Bio

I'm a contemporary abstract artist born in Brazil and living in Michigan, USA. But I am also a mechanical engineer with more than 20 years experience in the auto industry.

Since I was very young I felt bound to create. I remember that during my long summer vacations in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. I would gather my cousins and convince them to join me on numerous imaginative endeavors, from creating concerts and plays to our parents to crafting illustrated story books to read and show to our friends.

That creative spark has followed me through engineering school and grad school. I have tried singing and guitar playing, acting and ceramics. In fact, I have practice ceramics for over 10 years and only in 2010, after what it seemed a very long hiatus, I started working on paintings.

Initially I worked with oils but after moving to US in 2016, I added watercolor and acrylics to the mix.

I am mostly self taught but I have appreciated the contribution of several artists I found online to develop my practice, specially Judy Woods and Pam Caughey.

Currently I am mostly creating abstract work in acrylic mixed media with eventual works in watercolor.
